Dour Festival 2013: 25 New Names
The 50 Weapons label will be taking over on the Thursday evening of the Festival! From the perfect mixture of hip-hop and pumped-up electronica by Modeselektor (live) to the organic digital sounds of Phon.o (live); from the offbeat techno of Shed (live) to the crazy music of the indefinable Otto Von Schirach and the ingenuity of Bambounou, the 25th Dour Festival is looking tasty, 50 Weapons style!
Dour Festival 2013: Hip Hop Part II
We can pretty much already hear you chanting "Wu-Tang Clan! Wu-Tang Clan!": the group have confirmed their one and only visit to Belgium this summer to celebrate their 20th anniversary and new album launch, currently planned for August. Also added the Boombox and Last Arena line-ups are Keny Arkana, spitting venom from his new opus Tout Tourne Autour Du Soleil ('Everything revolves around the sun'), and the ingenious La Coka Nostra. Joining them is one of the sensations of 2013, Riff Raff, who will take the time (we hope!) to join Action Bronson for their hit Born on a wire. An unfortunate cancellation from last year, BadBadNotGood will also be making up for missing out last year this time around!
Dour Festival 2013: Yeah Yeah Yeahs
To open proceedings, the Yeah Yeah Yeahs are back with a new album, and will be coming to Dour to play their catchy garage rock, underpinned by eighties keyboards and explosive rhythms. With a savvy mix of trip-hop, twinkling jazz, and film score music, Bonobo will be making sure there's a good portion of trippy pop at the festival. Elsewhere we've already got goose pimples at the prospect of Devendra Banhart's pop tunes. And the default reference point for 'dirty reggae', The Aggrolites will be playing their explosive cocktail of ska, steady rock and reggae.
Dour Festival 2013: Flying Lotus
The jewel in Warp's impressive array of artists, Flying Lotus is back this year on the Dour stages, bringing an intense set with him. With electronica inspired by icy fjords and an ingenious trip-hop edge to boot, Trentemøller , icon of the electronica scene will be bringing his organic style to the Plaine de la Machine à Feu.
Dour Festival 2013: Hardcore Part II
With The Divinity Of Purpose, an album made for performance and for moshpits, the American group Hatebreed will bring shudders to the earth of the Plaine de la Machine à Feu. And speaking of energetic, lively hardcore, the crazy Canadians that are Comeback Kid will be here to play their brutal tracks to brutal moshers.
